Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: September 2026

Pintado is committed to ensuring that our website, educational art resources, and browser-based creative tools are accessible to all people, including individuals with disabilities. We actively conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standards.

1. Measures Taken for Accessibility

Our theme architecture incorporates comprehensive accessibility features across all templates and interactive Canvas tools:

  • Keyboard Operability: Every interactive element (sliders, color pickers, upload buttons, modals, navigation drawers) can be navigated and activated using standard keyboard commands (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Escape).
  • Visible Focus Indicators: High-contrast focus rings (2px solid var(--pintado-primary)) clearly highlight the currently active element on screen.
  • Color Contrast: All body copy, headings, and functional icons maintain a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against their backgrounds, with larger text exceeding 3:1.
  • Semantic Structure & Landmarks: Web pages utilize semantic HTML5 landmark tags (<header>, <nav>, <main>, <footer>) and strict sequential heading hierarchies (H1 > H2 > H3) with zero skipped levels.
  • Skip to Content: A dedicated skip-to-content link is present on every page to allow screen reader and keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation.
  • Screen Reader Feedback: Dynamic notifications, such as color code copy confirmations, use aria-live="polite" announcements so assistive technologies communicate state changes.

2. Technical Specifications

Pintado relies upon standard web technologies designed for interoperability with assistive technologies: HTML5, CSS3, ES2022+ JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA.
